StrayTats was started in September of 2008 by a couple of friends from high-school who were tired of working for other people and wanted to take a shot at entrepreneurship. We reviewed a list of nearly 30 business ideas for what we felt would be the easiest to start on as a "practice business" - with the intent on moving to a "more serious" venture after we got our feet wet - and eventually landed on an online custom temporary tattoo store that offered custom tattoos without a minimum order quantity.

StrayTats was born and quickly grew into one of the world's largest custom temporary tattoo manufacturers with shipments to nearly every country in the world. Before we knew it, temporary tattoos were our lives - but, neither of us really wanted that.

As the technical lead and the one more likely to be heavily tied to the business in the event of a sale, I decided to buy out my friend in 2017. I continued to operate StrayTats with the intent of focusing on alternate ventures and used the profits of our record years in 2018 and 2019 to invest heavily in said ventures.

While it has been my pleasure to serve our customers for nearly 13 years, I am happy to report that it is finally time to officially use the stepping stone I first laid down to turn 100% of my focus to my dream job.
